South Coast: Snow with heavy amounts, winds moderate increasing to strong in the afternoon,  freezing level steady near 1000 m.

Sea to Sky: Snow with moderate to heavy amounts, winds moderate increasing to strong in the afternoon, freezing level steady near 1000 m.

NW ranges: Mainly cloudy with a few flurries and trace amounts.

Periods of light snow with trace amounts.

Vancouver Island: Snow with moderate to heavy amounts, extreme ridgetop winds, freezing level steady near 1000 m.

South Coast: Snow with heavy amounts, strong ridgetop winds, freezing level steady near 1000 m.

Sea to Sky: Snow with moderate to heavy amounts, strong ridgetop winds, freezing level steady near 1000 m.

Cascades and Duffey: Snowfall rates intensifying overnight.  Heavy amounts likely.

Light snow intensifying through the night.

Forecast for Saturday - 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST

Sea to Sky: Snow with heavy amounts, strong ridgetop winds, freezing level steady near 1000 m.

Cascades and Duffey: Light to moderate snow.

Heavy amounts expected in Kootenay Boundary region.  Moderate snow with locally heavy amounts in the Columbias and Purcells.

Lingering flurries across the province ending early on Sunday as a ridge build into the region from the south.  Freezing levels falling.

Another frontal system approaches from the southwest on Monday.  Current models would indicate this being a generally low QPF event.

A slow moving low pressure system is approaching Vancouver Island today.

Snow will spread from the SW coastal ranges this morning to the interior ranges tonight.

Locally heavy snow amounts are possible over both the Coast Mountains and the Interior.
